God I miss tea.
I love knowing something about something...
Since I've moved here...as it turns out, I'm an idiot. All the things I thought I knew don't matter and all the things I definitely knew, matter even less. I can't talk about tractors and I can't talk about breeding (though in truth, I guess I can learn about both of those subjects)
But yesterday was truly glorious! I actually had conversations...I connected. And I was present with the tea. Oh warm beautiful cup of happy, how I adore you. I was a facilitator at a wellness workshop. I did a talk in the morning, and then SO many people asked me... I did another one in the afternoon. AND THEN I was completely overwhelmed with the interest that I started taking down names to do another talk later...!!
Yay!

Trucks and trains

Okay so I learned about trucks the other day. It would seem that there is a lot to know.
Tridem, tandem, chassis, 5th wheel, how many tires there are is dependant on how heavy your 'payload' may be.
Now why you're asking yourself...Ro...do you need to know all these things about trucks? Well it seems that CN (yes...the rail company) doesn't like to deliver trains to the outer reaches of the planet (commonly known as Donnelly) SO...it's actually my job to solve this little problem... (?) My life is truly so bizarre.
So for those of you that don't know I am the Economic Development Officer for the Smoky River Region. As it is actually in my job description...'develop the economy'...the lack of trains directly affects economic growth. (Farmers can't sell their grain)
And there you go...Hey you farmers...use trucks!
Oh wait...except it costs more - LOTS more. One might even say 'its not economical'
So what do we do?
I'll be sure to let you know once I figure it out.

New Rubber Boots

Some how or t'other, Spring has arrived.
